The Wayamba University of Sri Lanka is dedicated in maintaining the highest standards of teaching, research and scholarship, and the enhancement of society’s core values by ensuring students’ achievement in excellent learning outcomes and enhanced educational opportunities. The Faculty of Business Studies & Finance of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka have established a Faculty Quality Assurance Cell (FQAC), which coordinates quality assurance activities for the improvements in overall performance of the faculty in liaison with the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of the University.
Accordingly, The FQAC of the Faculty of Business Studies & Finance was established with a directive to create a culture that pursues to continually improve the quality of all academic and other activities in the Faculty. The FQAC coordinates quality assurance aspects with “Quality Assurance Units” of its four academic departments (Department of Accountancy, Department of Banking & Finance, Department of Business Management, Department of Insurance & Valuation). Further FQAC facilitates Program reviews of four academic departments of the Faculty.
FQAC comprises of a committee of academic staff members chaired by the Dean of the Faculty and it is coordinated by an appointed Faculty Coordinator. FQAC plans, implements and evaluates quality assurance activities and give direction on best practices among staff and students of the faculty in liaison with other related committees within the Faculty (Curriculum and Academic Development Committee, Research and Higher Degree Committee, Teaching and Learning Committee, Student-Staff Liaison Committee etc.)
The ultimate intention of FQAC is to strengthen the Faculty’s capacity and commitment to produce quality graduates in disciplines of Accountancy & Business Finance, Banking & Finance, Business Management and Insurance & Finance.
