Professor

Currently, Prof. Shantha Herath is working as a Professor attached to the Department of Banking and Finance of the Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lank. Dr. Herath has completed B.A. (Special) Degree in Economics with a First Class from the Department of Economics of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 1999. In 2001, he completed Postgraduate Diploma in Business Statistics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Also, Prof. Herath completed Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo in 2002. He completed Master of Social Science in Economics from the University of Kelaniya in 2009. Prof. Herath completed his PhD in International Trade from the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, P.R. China in 2014.

Prof. Herath started his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Sri Jayeardenapura prior to join to the Department of Banking and Finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in 2003. Prof. Herath has held the Head of the Department position several times in the Department of Banking and Finance. Further, He has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Also, he is working as a member of the teaching panel of the Masters of Business Administration which is conducted by the Department of Business Management of the Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
