There is no Application Processing Charge (APC) to submit or publish in this Journal. SLJBSF applies mandatory check on plagiarism as the first step of the desk review. It is required to confirm that you are submitting your original work, that all rights in work belong to you, and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and has not already been published elsewhere. Further, it is required to certify that you have obtained all necessary permissions to reproduce any copyright works not owned by you.
The Editor has the right to take the final decision to accept or reject the submission.
Aims & Scope
Before submitting your manuscript to the Sri Lankan Journal of Business Studies and Finance, please ensure you have read the Aims and Scope (hyperlink to aims and scope).
The Sri Lankan Journal of Business Studies and Finance (SLJBSF) is a double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal, and it aims to publish scholarly work in the field of Business Studies & Finance. It is published semi-annually by the Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. The objectives of the SLJBSF are three folds; (i). to benchmark the Faculty’s contribution for the
growth of the body of knowledge in Business Studies & Finance, (ii) to promote and provide convenient access to publish and disseminate the research works of the potential researches/scholars, and (iii) to maintain the Faculty journal as an updated channel to provide solutions for unsolved problems while maintaining the academic excellence in knowledge dissemination in the field. Accordingly, the Journal is addressed to diverse communities, including, but not limited to, academics, professionals, graduate, and
postgraduate students, anyone with a keen interest in the field of Business Studies & Finance.
Peer Review Policy
All papers are sent out for review following a preliminary triage to eliminate submissions unsuitable for SLJBSF. A covering letter is important to assist the Editor in his/her preliminary evaluation, and hence please indicate why you think the paper is suitable for publication.
The Journal’s policy is to have manuscripts reviewed by a minimum of two expert reviewers. SLJBSF utilizes a double-blind peer review process in which the reviewer and author’s names and information are withheld from the other. Reviewers may at their own discretion opt to reveal their names to the author in their review but our standard policy practice is for their identities to remain concealed. All manuscripts are rigorously reviewed as swiftly as possible. The reviewers make comments to the author and recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief, who then makes the final decision.
The Editorial Board members may occasionally submit their own manuscripts for publication in the Journal. In such cases, the peer review process will be managed by other board members, and the submitting Editor/Board member will have no involvement in the decision-making process.
Authorship Papers should only be submitted for consideration once all contributing authors give consent. Those submitting papers should carefully check that all those whose work contributed to the paper are acknowledged as contributing authors. The list of authors should include all those who can legitimately claim authorship, namely all those who:
Authors should meet all the above-mentioned conditions. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content.
All parties who have made substantive contributions to the article should be listed as authors. Principal authorship, authorship order, and other publication credits should be based on the relative scientific or professional contributions of the individuals involved, regardless of their status. A student is usually listed as principal author on any multiple-authored publication that substantially derives from the student’s dissertation or thesis.
Acknowledgments
All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an Acknowledgements section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include a person who provided purely technical help or a department chair who provided only general support.
Funding
SLJBSF requires all authors to acknowledge their funding consistently under a separate heading or under the acknowledgments.
Conflict of Interests
It is the policy of SLJBSF to require a declaration of conflicting interests from all authors enabling a statement to be carried within the paginated pages of all published articles. Please ensure that a ‘Declaration of Conflicting Interests’ statement is included at the end of your manuscript, after any acknowledgments, and prior to the references. If no conflict exists, please state that ‘The Author(s) declare(s) that there is no conflict of interest’.
Plagiarism
Infringement of copyright, plagiarism, other breaches of best practices in publication, etc. is strictly taken note of by JIF. Since we aim to strictly protect the rights of our authors we always probe into claims of plagiarism and or misuse of already published articles. Similarly, we aim to protect the Journal’s reputation against malpractices. Special software may be resorted to checking the originality of submitted articles. The acceptable range of the Similarity Index is up to 20 percent. In the event of any article having breached any of the accepted conditions and or if the authorship is contested, SLJBSF has the right to take action including, but not limited to publishing an erratum or correction; taking up the issue/s with the relevant head of department or dean of the author’s institution and/or relevant academic bodies or societies, or taking appropriate legal action. Prior publication: SLJBSF does not generally accept any previously published material.
Sri Lankan Journal of Business Studies and Finance (SLJBSF) will publish papers written only in English. Authors are advised to make sure that their manuscripts are in standard written English. Text
The text of the papers should begin on page 3. All body paragraphs should begin with a paragraph indent and be fully justified. Wherever possible, authors should arrange the manuscripts in well-defined sections as appropriate for their work, such as introduction/background of the study, review of literature, context and methods of the study (when applicable), results and interpretations, and discussion and conclusion.

Tables should also have appropriate and concise headings. Tables should contain only horizontal lines and each should be placed immediately after the paragraph in the text containing the first reference to it. Tables of figures should be created in the paper
and computer output (e.g. SPSS output) should not be copy-pasted. Any tables not based on the authors’ original data should have source notes with corresponding references appearing in the reference list.
Figures and illustrations
All figures and illustrations, as in the case of tables, should be numbered consecutively as ‘Figures’ (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.) with corresponding references in the main text. Figures should also have appropriate and concise headings. Graphs should be presented as camera-ready, using black ink only. Each figure should be placed immediately after the paragraph in the text containing the first reference to it. Any figures not based on the authors’ original data should have source notes with corresponding references appearing in the reference list.
Conflict of Interest
All submissions should include a statement declaring any personal relationships that could cause a potential conflict of interest. Any funding sources should be properly acknowledged and should include a statement whether such funding could lead to a potential conflict of interest. This statement should be presented at the end of the main text prior to the list of references. Where there is no conflict of
interest, this should be stated.
Acknowledgment
If authors wish to acknowledge financial support or any other assistance, a note can be added below the statement on conflict of interest prior to references.
References
SLJBSF uses American Psychological Association (APA) style guide (Edition 6) for both in-text citations and reference lists. I available include the Digital Object Identification (DOI) number also in the reference. The reference list should be presented at the end of the manuscript and the entries should be double spaced.
Appendices
Any appendices should present after the list of references. They should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals (e.g. Appendix 1, Appendix 2, etc.). All appendices should be referred to inappropriate places in the main text.
