DOA News Bulletin 2024

As per the Academic Quality Enhancement Framework (AQEF) requirements, DOA conducted an annual self-assessment of each study programme to assess the progress of the Department until 2019, by appointing an internal review panel comprising 3 senior academic members; Prof. BPA Jayaweera, Dean/ Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries, and Nutrition, Ms WDNSM Tennakoon, Senior Lecturer/ Department of Business Management, and Mr UES Kumara, Senior Lecturer/ Department of Accountancy.

With the guidance of the Head of the Department Prof. DAM Perera, Department Quality Coordinator Ms. GKN Priyadarshini and Department Quality Sub-Coordinator Mr. YDR Kuruppuarachchi coordinated the programme successfully.

The Dean of the faculty, Prof. SK Gamage, also participated in this event’s inauguration held in the Faculty Career Guidance Unit on the 14th of August 2020.

Department of Accountancy organized its Annual Symposium of Accountancy and Finance Research (SACFIRE – 2020) consecutively for the 6th time on 10th November 2020 as an online symposium, under the guidance of Mr. UES Kumara, the conference chair SACFIRE 2020.  SACFIRE 2020 was organized as an open annual symposium for all the undergraduates in the university system to enhance their research skills. The theme of the symposium was “Business Sustainability through Contemporaneous Research in a Turbulent Environment”. Prof. Athula Ekanayake, Dean, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya delivered the key-note speech of the event addressing the role of a CFO in a turbulent environment which is a timely topic applicable to the industry.
